Our Charity/ Community Ethos

 

The Joyce Marshall Academy of Performing Arts is committed to its charity and community work, and always endeavours to support as many good causes as possible.

 

The Joyce Marshall Academy is open to all requests for assistance with fundraisers. Our participation, however, is dependant on our scheduled events. We are currently taking bookings from May 2011. Our scheduled charity and community events are listed in the column to the right. This will be updated regularly.

Don't Give Up!

 

Students from The Joyce Marshall Academy of Performing Arts joined forces with Cor Casnewydd, the Newport Community Children's Choir, and with over 1000 young people in recording Don't Give Up!, an original pop song written by Academy Principal Emma Rowland. Sparkle and Shine!

 

Academy students from our Llanover branch were involved in the world premiere of the official Sparkle Appeal musical, which was a fantastic success and raised £160 for SparkleWe look forward to continuing our partnership with Sparkle, and hope to raise as much money as possible to support its fantastic work.

 

The Little Hedgehog's Journey

 

On 21st November 2009, the Academy held a collection for Langstone Primary School during the performance of The Little Hedhehog's Journey, after learning of the theft of plants and equipment from the students' school garden, raising £45.39. Keep checking back for more...

 

Think Pink!

 

The Academy held a concert and pink fashion show in aid of Cancer Research UK. The event took place at The Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel and Spa, Usk, on Sunday 17th May 2009. The Think Pink! event raised a fantastic £2020.18. Click here for more.

 

A Man and His Music

 

The Joyce Marshall Academy's launch concert took place on January 24th 2009 at Langstone Village Hall. The Academy played host to world-renowned Musical Theatre star Peter Karrie. The event raised vital funds for the Langstone Village Hall Trust.

 

Christmas Spirit!

 

As part of its ongoing commitment to the community of Langstone, the staff of the Academy attended and assisted with Langstone  Community Council's Christmas concert, which raised £126.
