Speaking to The Joyce Marshall Academy, Matt Brinkler said "The opportunity to perform and train in the performing arts should be available to all young people.  It can give them a healthy confidence which will help them progress in any career later in life.

No other activity can give young people as much scope to be expressive, creative and imaginative.  The performing arts can also provide an important emotional release from the strains of anything else happening in life.  Most importantly, it is fun and helps individuals develop strong social interaction abilities."

Matt Brinkler trained with YMT:UK and then at the prestigious Urdang Academy in London.  Matt's most notable role to date is playing Sven in Gurinder Chadha's hit 2008 movie 'Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging'.

Tim Sutton, speaking to The Joyce Marshall Academy, "A large part of my work involves working with young people in some form or another. The older I get, the more I feel the necessity of this work. Just as all of us who are privileged work as theatre professionals remember those role models who inspired our young selves with their passion and talent, so it is incumbent upon us to return the gift to the next generation of aspiring theatre makers. I've seen the possibilities of theatre light up the eyes of young children from the most unlikely of backgrounds, and seen sluggish and torpid cultures break up and take to the skies.

As young people are allowed to take part in a theatre experience, so they feel, from the inside, the power of transformation, and in investigating the lives of others, they come to believe in their own power for change. Working with children can be moving, challenging, maddening, surprising, but always leaves you spiritually the better. I wish you well in all your endeavours.
